Question - Do you keep ideas to yourself?

Hey guys, over at Ben’s Blog, I just read a pretty good post about the Gold Rush in California. Okay, so its not only about the Gold Rush, but it actually is about keeping good ideas to yourself. Would you?

For example, if you discovered a way to game Google, would tell readers of your blog about it? Thing is, you may make the trade-off that giving away this tip would expose your blog, you may get more traffic, but you may not have benefited.

I think that if the time came when I found out a “golden method” I would use it and then tell people about it. I would also do it under wraps so that non-regular readers would have to become regular readers to learn the secret.

Then again, there are certain tricks I have that I must still test. After I value these tricks, then I’ll decide on whether I release them. Maybe write an e-book or something.

So, would you keep “golden” ideas to yourself?

PS: The Ninja is shrouded in secrecy.
