Using Forums to Boost your Business Profits

Hey guys, this post is all about an old but effective way to advertise your online business.

Digital Point. I hope that all of you have an account there, because it really is the best thing you can do for your business.

If you’ve ever ventured into the “General Business” area of Digital Point, there are lots of threads with people telling others about their next big plan to make a lot of money. Usually, they request PM’s and so on. Well, if you have a product in the Computers/IT sector, you can advertise here as well. Just tell people about it either in a new thread, or in a reply to a thread.

Word of caution though, DON’T SPAM! Please don’t make endless threads about your product or write a thread with no useful info in it. In order to write a nice thread for your product, first provide some useful advice related to your product, how it can benefit others, and why they should buy it. This way, the thread can actually help someone and people might be interested in your product. Also, it benefits you in another way because you can get some backlinks in the process. Once again, don’t just SPAM. Please don’t be the irritating salesman who shoves the info down people’s throats.

Digital Point isn’t your only option though, find a forum related to your product. Join it and become known as the real genius, i.e. You can help them with problems and queries. This way, you can earn their trust and then they will be more likely to buy from you.

If you can’t find any forums on your product, that can be a bad and VERY good thing. This means that you can set up your own forum on the product and people will come to your site to find information and your shop will literally be right there. This is good because people will associate your shop with the forum and they will be more likely to buy from there, as you are, after all, the leading source for information on the product!

So I hope that in the future, you begin to start using forums as a stepping-stone to business. You help people, earn their trust and they buy from you. Simple. And just by the way, it has been proven that people will choose trust over price, that is, they will buy from the more expensive source if they trust you. That’s yet another excuse to get people to trust you. Tomorrow I will actually write a post about getting the trust of your customers.
